Our Research

We aim to advance novel and innovative research in the areas of molecular epidemiology, genomics and immunodiagnostics of Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Buruli Ulcer. All these are done towards promoting patient care.

Research Facilities

Culture Laboratory

Media preparation, culture, isolation and microscopy of mycobacterial organisms.

PCR, Sequencing and Bioinformatics

DNA extraction, amplification, sequencing, and computational analysis for genetic characterization.

Measurements and Imaging

Morphometric analysis, microscopy, and digital imaging for structural and quantitative assessments.

Media and Autoclave

Preparation, sterilization, and quality control of culture media for microbial and cell culture applications.

Gene Xpert

Rapid molecular detection of pathogens and genetic markers using real-time PCR technology.

Research Laboratory and Workspace

Equipped for experimental design, sample processing, data analysis, and documentation.

Miscellaneous

Essential laboratory tools for sample preparation, storage, and analytical procedures.
